The Techlog wellbore software platform delivers an industry leading desktop solution that provides petrophysicists, geoscientists, and engineers with a fully integrated, interactive, and easy to use analysis tool for the interpretation of all wellbore data types (core, logs, images, photos, and so on). Using Techlog, these different disciplines can collaborate effectively by accessing and incorporating the same data into their workflows, helping you to fully capitalize on previous data investments.

What's new in Techlog 2024.1:

General

Microsoft Outlook

Warning: If you activate the new Outlook option, it will prevent the Automatic Bug Report (ABR) generated by Techlog to be sent when a crash occurs. Similar issues have been documented by Microsoft, which will be addressed in a future Microsoft Office patch.

Cross-plot (Technology preview)

The new cross-plot option has the following features:

•         Improvement of data loading performance.

•         Improvement of graphical performance while panning and zooming.

•         The plot can handle 100 datasets and/or 10M of data points.

•         The equation can be saved in different formats, such as: Text, Python, Python using numpy, and Excel.

Framework

•         Upgrade of QT version 5.15.16. it focuses on essentially bug fixes and security updates. The details can be found in the release notes of QT.

Notification Center

•         Integration of Notification Browser in a dock window.

•         Ocean API to enable plugins to send notifications.

Ocean

•         New Ocean APIs have been added for generating notifications in Techlog. Using the APIs you can:

•         Create a new notification (the default type is Information).

•         Delete a notification.

•         Add context to each notification:

•         Title, body, type, Icon, context, closing.

•         Select which type of notification it is (Information, Warning, or Error).

•         Signal when a notification or button is clicked.

Python

•         Upgrade of python version to 3.12. it focuses on leaning up deprecated APIs, usability, and correctness. Several modules have better performance. For more information refer to https:// docs.python.org/release/3.12.0/whatsnew/3.12.html.

•         Binder APIs: These help to connect output of AWI method to parameters of Quanti Elan. For more information view the Python library documentation in Techlog.

Zonation

•         The Zone list order is now kept as a Techlog setting on your computer.

Domains

Quanti.Elan

With the introduction of the new Python APIs, you can now define a variable, generated by a specified method, to serve as a substitute for an equivalent Quanti.Elan initializations output. This functionality is particularly beneficial for scenarios where you prefer Quanti.Elan to utilize a variable derived from a method other than initializations for populating initialization-driven cells. This feature enhances flexibility and facilitates more tailored Quanti.Elan computations. For more information, see the python library documentation in Techlog.
